Mindfulness & Progress – 13th of February

Big Wins: Japan Trip Locked In & A Solid Training Day

Started the day tired but determined after getting only 4 hours of sleep thanks to a late anime binge and being woken up at 6 AM. Managed to get back to sleep for a bit, but it was still a rough start.

First stop was Flight Center, where I paid the deposit for my Japan trip and booked my flights—25 days in Japan is now officially happening! After that, I went to my dentist appointment, then straight to the gym for a push day workout with my little brother.


Workout Highlights & Progress

  • 💪 Push Day Session – Focused on chest, shoulders, and triceps.
  • 🏃 Skipped Cardio – Originally planned to go for a run, but after such little sleep, I decided to listen to my body and rest instead.

Other Wins for the Day

  • Read my book for 15 minutes—staying consistent with my reading habit.
  • Played 30 minutes of guitar—used my travel guitar, which felt easier to play than my full-size one.
  • Tracked my calories—but ended up slightly under target, so I’ll make up for it tomorrow.
  • Looked at potential properties to buy—found an amazing house, and even joked about building an underground bunker with my best mate after watching Colin Furze’s videos.
  • Did some planning for Japan—my travel agent is visiting Okinawa in July and will give me tips for the best places to visit.

Lessons & Self-Reflection

What did I learn today?

  • 🏡 There are more large properties for sale in my area than I realized—good to know for future plans.
  • 🎸 Switching between guitars helps—my travel guitar feels more comfortable for longer practice sessions.
  • ✈️ Planning ahead makes travel easier—glad I sorted my flights early so I can focus on the details.

What scared me today?

😴 Skipping a workout usually makes me feel guilty, but I’m learning to prioritize rest and recovery when needed.


Looking Ahead

  • 📌 Hit the gym again—planning a leg day.
  • 📌 Catch up on cardio since I skipped today.
  • 📌 Start researching places to visit in Japan after my tour.
  • 📌 Possibly drive to Brisbane to visit my sister.

Final Thoughts

Even though today wasn’t perfect, it was productive—I locked in my Japan trip, kept up with my habits, and allowed myself some rest when needed.
