Mindfulness & Progress – 11th of February
Balancing Productivity & Recovery
Woke up around 3:30 PM after a late night, but decided to skip the gym today. Instead, I focused on recovery and preparing for a solid pull day workout tomorrow. My back training is a priority since it helps my shoulders and posture, so I want to give it my all.
Spent time at my housemate’s brother’s place, checking in on him and helping with career advice. I offered to redo his resume and assist with potential mining job opportunities. Small actions, but ones that can make a difference.
Key Wins for the Day
- ✅ Rescheduled my dentist appointment—moved it from Thursday to Wednesday to free up more time.
- ✅ Contacted my little brother to lock in personal training sessions during my six days off.
- ✅ Used earplugs for the first time in years—resulting in a solid, uninterrupted sleep.
- ✅ Emailed my travel agent to confirm Japan trip details.
- ✅ Started looking into personal training courses—considering it as a long-term skill.
Lessons & Self-Reflection
What did I learn today?
- 🎵 Acoustics & Sound Science – Learned how sound frequencies are measured and processed in work environments.
- 🥜 Peanut Butter is a Choking Hazard – Tried to eat two spoonfuls without water. Bad idea. Lesson learned.
- 📖 Follow What You Enjoy – Inspired by a podcast, I reflected on storytelling and how I want to incorporate it into my life.
What scared me today?
🛠️ Offering help to someone I don’t know well – Went out of my way to assist someone, which isn’t in my usual comfort zone.
Looking Ahead
- 📌 Finalizing Japan Trip – Need to call my travel agent and pay the deposit.
- 📌 Tracking Fitness & Calories – Didn’t track food today, but I kept portions in check.
- 📌 Exploring Personal Training – Might visit a training center this week to check out part-time course options.
- 📌 Guitar & Reading – Will get back to consistency with these habits.
Final Thoughts
Even though today wasn’t fitness-heavy, it was still productive. Sometimes, taking a step back is just as important as pushing forward. Balance is key.
“You’re enough. You’ve got this. The world is a better place with you in it. Go crush some goals!”
